 launched a campaign to rectify and standardize contact lens market.

It is introduced that contact lens are in the scope of medical apparatus and instruments that are explicitly stipulated

by our country, and supervision department has strict requirements and stipulations on its producing and selling links.

 However, the current situation is that many consumers could not use contact lens correctly, and lots of shoddy 

contact lens in the market leave hidden dangers to consumers’health.

During this checking, relevant departments in Lanzhou city focus on that if business units selling contact lens have Licenses

 of Operating Medical Apparatus and Instruments, if market products have relevant qualifications like Medical Apparatus and

 Instruments Register Certificate, imported products manual, imported products clearance list, and if labels and packaging 

use Chinese marking. Besides, they put emphasis on supervision and checking if purchase channel is legal, if legal buying 

evidence is available and if relevant records are made such as acceptance check, maintenance and selling records.

So far, Chengguan District’s food and drug supervision department has supervised and checked 30 eyewear wholesale enterprises 

and eyewear stores, issued prescribed period rectification order to 13 enterprises that failed to take pre-service training or make registration of quality inspection record, and placed on file to investigate one enterprise who deals with catalogue
